Lakers News: Max Christie enters League COVID-19 protocols – All Lakers

Your Los Angeles Lakers could get up to three rotational players back in time for their next game, against the Detroit Pistons next Friday.

That said, it looks like they’ll also be dropping at least one other Los Angeles actor.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports that rookie shooter Max Christie, selected by Los Angeles with the 35th pick from Michigan State this summer, has been placed under the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

After the league was riddled with coronavirus-related absences last year, the NBA opted to quietly adjust its testing practices over the summer. Now players up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations are only tested if they have symptoms. Unvaccinated players are tested weekly. This is a significant change from wall-to-wall testing conducted during the 2021-22 NBA season.
