A new legacy of Kain the game seems likely after Embracer Group received 100,000 responses to its recent poll asking fans if they want more from the franchise.
Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer’s 12th Operational Group, which includes Legacy of Kain creator Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive, said, “We wanted to get a community perspective on what players are looking for if we were to revisit the land of Nosgoth and, of course, our iconic IP Legacy of Kain.

He continued: “In the past, we have found that investigations have generally been between [1,000] and 3,000 responses, but when we asked people about Legacy of Kain, we got over 100,000 responses, and 73,000 players fully completed it.
“We saw the news of our investigation being shared on social and press platforms and really thought this was a great way to rekindle this community of passionate fans with this legendary series of games for PC consoles. let’s hear it loud and clear and keep updating you on the ‘What if?’ upcoming possibilities for Legacy of Kain in the future.”
Embracer Group had already made clear its intention to explore its developers’ back catalogs, announcing in May that he sees “great potential” in creating sequels, remakes, remasters and spin-offs from dormant franchises. Legacy of Kain certainly fits the bill, with 2003’s Legacy of Kain: Defiance being the most recent entry in the franchise.
Legacy of Kain is a series of action-adventure games focusing on vampires living in the dark fantasy world of Nosgoth. They stood out for their high-quality writing and puzzle-solving alongside the action, gaining many fans along the way. Uncharted creator Amy Hennig made several of the games during her time at Crystal Dynamics.
