Nintendo power is an iconic part of Nintendo the story and the history of the game in general. Thiss 24-year, 285-runtime problem has gone through several generations of gamers and helped us complete difficult games played on systems of the Olympics NES to the Wii U. Many of us have fond memories of flipping through itbut did not have the foresight to save them (or hide them from our decluttering parents before heading off to college). But it’s okay, because in another reminder there is no better cure for nostalgia than the internetevery problem is available for download at present.

As reported by Nintendo Lifea group of archivists worked on a project dubbed “Retromags”, an attempt to upload retro magazines to the internet for fans to browse and reminisce about. Nintendo power is the latest magazine the archivists have targeted and finished downloading. Now you can download each of these 285 issues to your computer to enjoy at your leisure.

A user, Gumball, even added the entire collection to Archive.org. They note that there is not one site or location on the Internet where you can download and view all numbers of Nintendo power, they were pretty scattered, forcing you to hop from site to site to find the issues you were looking for. But this move changes things: Now you can easily save the entire 40GB collection to your computer—either number by number or in a single jackpot. What a time to live.

These issues are stored as cbr (comic reader) files, which cannot be read using a standard image viewer. You will need to download a comic reader to open them. You can try something like simple cartoon on Mac or iPhone, or CPosterEX on Windows or Android.

Be warned, however: Downloads are finicky. I got a lot of belly midway, forcing me to start again. I don’t know if it’s because there are a lot of people trying to download these files at the same time, but it’s something to consider if you’re prone to getting unusual irritated when you are slightly inconvenienced while enjoying free resources.

Another thing worth considering: We don’t know how long this collection will stay online. Nintendo is famous for siccing its legal team anything it doesn’t like, from fan-made versions of his gameher YouTube videos, including sound original soundtracks. It is possible that the company abandons this project, but just just in case, try catch them as soon as possible.

By the way, Nintendo Power isn’t really dead. Well, the magazine is. Bbut the name lives as one Official Nintendo Podcast. There have been 54 episodes since it launched in 2017, so give it a listen if you miss this official nintendo seal of quality flavor in your media diet.
