They are five Pokemon Titans in Pokemon Scarlet and Purpleall powerful protectors Mystical Grass.
Each Herba Mystica is made into a sandwich, which feeds Koraidon or Miraidon (depending on the version of the game you are playing). By using these bonuses, you can improve their mount skills, allowing them to dash, jump higher, swim, slide, and climb cliffs.
Below, we list the Pokémon Titans in tier order, along with tips for countering them and what their respective Herba Mystica unlocks for your mount. (Titans don’t have actual levels assigned to them, but we’re basing battle difficulty on Arven’s Pokemon level.)
If you plan to get ahead and rely on Arven in battles, don’t. His Pokemon aren’t particularly useful. In fact, they fainted most of the time we faced Titan Pokémon.
Stony Cliff Titan (Klawf)
Klawf is a rock-type Pokémon, leaving it open to many vulnerabilities: Struggle-, grass-, ground-, steel-, and the waterType moves are all super effective.
This fight is very simple and doesn’t really have any special gadgets, as it’s supposed to make those monstrous fights easier for you.
Arven will help you by using a level 16 Shellder.
Once your Mount Pokémon eats the Sweet Herba Mystica, it will learn to dash.
Titan in the open (Bombbirdier)
Bomber is a dark and flying type, which means he has many weaknesses. Use electric-, ice-, rock-, Where Fairy-type moves against it. Its double typing nullifies its bug and combat type weaknesses, so avoid using them.
As with Klawf, this fight is fairly straightforward and you should be able to defeat him fairly quickly.
Arven will assist with a level 19 Nacli.
After eating the Bitter Herba Mystica, your mount will be able to move on water.
Hidden Steel Titan (Orthworm)
Orthworm is a steel-type Pokemon, but you cannot use ground-type moves on itdue to his “Earth Eater” ability, an ability that causes him to absorb ground-type moves into HP.
The Pokémon Orthworm Titan’s other weaknesses are struggle– and Fire-type, but since Orthworm knows Ground-type moves, we don’t recommend using Fire-type Pokemon.
Arven will help you by using a level 28 Toedscool.
Once you feed your mount the Salty Herba Mystica obtained from the Lurking Steel Titan, it will learn to jump higher.
The Titan of the Trembling Earth (Great Tusk/Iron Treads)
This Pokémon Titan depends on the version of the game you have. If you have Scarlet, you will face the ground and fighting type Great Tusk. If you have Purpleyou will go against the ground and steel type iron steps.
For Great Tusk, you can use Water, Grass, Fairy, Flying, or Psychic-type moves against him. A Flying-type Pokemon will work especially well, as it won’t be affected by Ground-type moves.
For Iron Treads, you can use Fighting, Ground, Fire, and Water type moves to clear it quickly. (But be careful if using a fire-type Pokemon, due to Iron Treads’ ground type.)
Arven assists with a level 44 Scovillain.
After feeding your mount the Sour Herba Mystica, it will be able to slide off cliffs.
The Fake Dragon Titan (Dondozo and Tatsugiri)
After interacting with a particularly large Tatsugiri (the sushi Pokémon) on the marked island, the Fake Dragon Titan will appear.
The False Dragon Titan is not a dragon at all (hence its name). It’s only Water-type, so pound it with Grass- and Electric-type moves.
Arven will help you with a level 55 Greedent.
After your fight with Dondozo, the real titan will appear: this enormous Tatsugiri. Tatsugiri is both water and dragon type, so you can use dragon and fairy type moves against him. Since he knows dragon-type moves, you should probably stick with a fairy-type match.
Once you feed your Spicy Herba Mystica mount, it can easily scale vertical cliffs, allowing you to fully explore Paldea.
After defeating all five Titan Pokemon, you’ll need to return to the lighthouse where you first encountered Arven. After some discussion, Arven will want to fight. You should be around level 60 for this battle.
