You’ve probably heard that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were released in… a bit of a state. While this might be a huge disappointment for most people spending close to $100 on the game, it has also been a source of great amusement on social media, where people have found out that the new co-op multiplayer feature is very buggy indeed.
We’re not sure exactly what’s causing these issues, but it looks like the integration of other players into cutscenes and traversal makes for some seriously chilling body horror. There are gigantic, elongated human bodies, horrible arm-twisting impossibilities, and faces that turn horribly wrong.
We even found a problem ourselves. Turns out you can position the selfie camera right against a wall to make your character’s facial features just right. popular out, creating these nightmarish faces:
Even outside of multiplayer, there’s potential for hilarity/deeply upsetting stuff, because it looks like Pokémon can just, uh, slip into the abyss:
And many players find it quite easy to get out of bounds themselves:
We can’t decide if we’d rather have these issues fixed as soon as possible, or figure out how to make them happen in our game so we can have fun.
