A brand new Batman the game leaked online. Batman is one of the most iconic and popular superheroes, which has made him a hot topic for video games. While the character moved mountains for the superhero genre in film, he was also responsible for a key turning point in video game adaptations. The Batman Arkham series was key to helping superhero games feel more premium and not just cheap, annual releases often tied to a new movie. The Spider-Man games started to suffer from this over time, but Batman was able to break that mold and create something that stood above every other game he came out against. Despite the conclusion of this series in 2015, Batman is still around thanks to ensemble games like LEGO, MultiVersusand Injustice, but it’s been a minute since he played solo.
A new one may be on the horizon thanks to Camouflaj. As spotted by Jank Roettgers (Going through UploadVR), a FTC court document notes that Camouflaj is working on a new Batman VR game for Meta. The developer is known for his work on Iron Man VR, a previously PlayStation VR-exclusive game that has now made its way to Oculus after Meta acquired the studio. The document notes that the team is working on a Batman game for the Meta’s Quest headset, but offers no further details. Rocksteady did a VR Arkham spin-off a few years ago, but it seems more likely that Camouflaj will do its own thing.

Only time will tell what this game looks like, but Meta tries to create a fair amount of exciting first-party titles for its headsets. Rockstar Games has even struck a deal to bring grand theft auto san andreas to Meta headsets in the near future. It’s likely that deals like this will continue to happen given Meta’s deep pockets, but who knows if it will pay off.
